INN ON THE GREEN

We are situated above the Portobello Green Fitness Club, with our own entrance which includes a brand new chair lift (and it is used regularly).
www.westway.org
Having been up and running for three years, we are now a well-established venue for live music, film and theatre, performing arts, one-off events as well as regular weekly and monthly events - see below (venue and/or news) for details... And events now include a monthly Babyfoot (table football) competition and a chess club.

And check out a new kid on the block at
www.nottinghilldiary.com for some interestingly different takes on our neighbourhood - it's good!
our ethos

VENUE

Because we have become known as an arts and performance venue we are constantly being given ideas and suggestions for events - we welcome this and providing it fits in with our philosophy (whew!) we will listen and take up your ideas so keep them coming.

And we do our best to keep some space available for booking that special occasion - but if the function room isn't available on the date you're thinking of, you can use the 'Rise' (Gallery space), perfect for a gathering of 40-50 people: contact us and we will do our best to meet your needs - it will accommodate more so come and speak to us.

GALLERY

In keeping with making the bar a place for creative talents, we designated a space for local artists to display their work. So far a dozen or more artists and photographers have hung their work and we are pleased to say that not only has this brightened up the bar it has also resulted in the artists selling some of their work. Charlie Phillips's photographic exhibition is featured in the photo and you will need to visit the Gallery Archive to read more about him as well as other previous exhibitors.

FOOD AT THE INN

We are still without regular caterers but we now have the fabulous Gary together with his brother out on the balcony preparing their amazingly tasty barbecued chicken - and you can buy his Jamaican jerk sauce - plus rice n peas with a choice of fish. There's the monthly Sunday Roast, and Brown Sugar, also monthly, with the fabulous Chicken George serving up his excellent Carribean fare as well as catering for birthday parties etc. So do BYO at other times until we've got the kitchen franchised out once again.

BAR

Our staff team who are friendly and helpful is well established now - and quick to learn what your regular tipple is: whether you like your Guinness regular or extra cold! There is a wide variety of beers on tap, as well as cider, an extensive wine list, a choice of non-alcoholic refreshing drinks (my favourite is Purdy's!) as well as a good range of spirits. And the bar stools are everyone's favourite - you need to get here early to book one!

WHAT TO READ WHILE YOU RELAX WITH A DRINK OR A MEAL

We have a book case full of local history books and pamphlets - check it out and find out about the local area. The Guardian and Independent are our daily papers as well as the freebies; weeklies include the Observer and Independent on Sunday. The magazines are kept for a few weeks so you can always catch up on that article you missed.

And if you're thinking of taking a course, we keep the local Kensington & Chelsea college brochure to hand as well as the City Lit book of courses - a firm favourite of mine (it would be as I teach there!)
